With the new store in Marseille, Veja continues its expansion and opens up a location in southern France for the first time. The store is located in Friche La Belle de Mai – an urban quarters that stands for cultural diversity, social projects and a creative spirit of optimism.
The new room combines repair shop, second-hand area and concept store. Sneakers of all brands can be repaired, restored or recycled here. The offer is supplemented by exclusive prototypes, B-goods and sustainably produced products from the Veja collection-all in an deliberately unconventional setting.
In terms of design, Veja breaks with the previous, rather minimalist formal language: the new store is colorful and reminds of the sunrise over Marseille with an intensive course of color. Recycled materials were used for interior design, many furniture comes from a second hand. Together with local craftsmen, including the women’s collective “Les Fabricoleuses”, and students from the Marseille University of Applied Sciences, a place was created that wants to combine sustainability, social commitment and aesthetics.
