Italian citizenship and labor reform referendum is likely to fail due to low voter voting.
Only 30% of the 51 million eligible voters of Italy as a two-day polling in Europe’s four-time big economy had genius genuine-left opposition groups as well as the country’s laboratory association to cast a ballot in the five referendum of the champion.
The referendum requires more than 50% of a voter participation that is legally binding in Italy.
The result is a major victory for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who opposed the measures.
Meloni arrived at a Rome polling station on Sunday – when the voting was 22% – to declare that it would not cast a vote.
Meloni once again encouraged her supporters to boycott voting in a similar way.
What were about Italy’s referendum?
Four out of four firing on the security of the workplace, against better safety against firing, increased salary increase, unemployment benefits, end of fixed -term contracts and better workplace accident compensation.
The fifth referendum addressed whether voters want to reduce citizenship laws in the country, allowing migrants of the non-European Union to apply for Italian passport after five instead of current 10 years.
Currently, the rule will apply to migrants of about 2.5 million non-European Union.
The arguments to reduce citizenship requirements were inspired by the declining birth rate of Italy and calls to better integrate foreign workers in an attempt to promote the country’s economy.
The data compiled by the polling organization Waynd said that the voter gymnasium agriculture was more in the north of the country than in South, as well as in cities and in areas where left-up parties pretended the best in Italy’s most and European Union elections.
“The opposition wanted to convert it into a referendum on the Meloni government,” said Cabinet Understander and Meloni colleague Giovanbatista Fazolyry. “The response is very clear: the government is strong and weaker than the opposition.”
Talking about the failure of the vote, Lorenzo Preglisco of YouTrend said, “Whether it is above 30% or simply below, it’s a low figure … below the expectations and goals set by the promoters.”
