Raja raghuvanshi murder case: Sonam Raghuvanshi, arrested on charges of killing her husband, returned to her parents’ home just 4 days after her marriage. She came to her maternal home for the rituals after marriage. According to a Times of India (TOI) report, the police claim that during the visit she allegedly conspired to kill her husband Raja Raghuvanshi along with her ex -boyfriend Raj Kushwaha. The couple was on a honeymoon trip in Meghalaya when the accident occurred.
Initially, the news of the disappearance of the king was received, with the apprehension that the newly married couple lost the path. But on June 2, the king’s body was found in a deep ditch. Also, a knife, a mobile phone and blood -stained raincoat were also found nearby. However, at first glance it seemed that he was looted, as his gold ring and chain were missing.
This was followed by a special investigation team (SIT) with NDRF, SDRF and intelligence units. Then the case was successful when Sonam was arrested from a dhaba in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, four suspects Raj, Akash Rajput (21), Vishal Singh Chauhan (22) and Anand Kurmi (23) were arrested from Indore, Satna and Lalitpur.
However, Sonam has denied killing the king. Sonam, referring to four arrested people, said, “I did not kill my husband. She killed her for jewelery.” Raj worked as an accountant in Sonam’s family business. He was in a relationship with him before marriage. Although he had gone a year ago, police believe that he was in touch. His family was allegedly against this relationship. He decided his marriage to the king through his community.
Vivek Sim, SP of East Khasi Hills, alleged that Sonam was sending her location to Raj during the entire visit. Officials believe that the killers chased the couple after visiting the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati. The TOI report states that Raj stayed in Indore, while Akash, Vishal and Anand went to Assam by train. The weapon of the murder was reportedly purchased in Guwahati.

Sonam also persuaded Raja to increase her stay in Shillong. Local guide Albert PD told the police that he had seen the couple with three Hindi speaking people near Nongriyat village on 23 May. This clue was important in connecting the accused with crime. The Times of India quoted SP SIM as saying, “All points indicate that the plan was already planned. After interrogating the accused together, we will confirm everything.”
