The BTE officially moved the seat of its office to Berlin. The new rooms are located in the association’s house on Weidendamm 1a in the immediate vicinity of the political center of the capital. There the association is now located in the immediate vicinity of the German Trade Association (HDE), with which a branch has been operated since the beginning of 2023. The management of the Berlin office is located with Sönke Padberg. All previous email addresses remain.
The background to the relocation is a corresponding decision of the BTE delegate assembly from May 2024. Since the statutes had to be adjusted, the move could only be carried out now. According to the BTE, the aim of laying the location is to represent the interests of textile, shoe and leather goods trade compared to federal politics even more effectively in the future- together with the HDE.
Renovation and technical upgrading measures are currently still underway in the new rooms. The BTE therefore asks for understanding if there should be restrictions on accessibility in the coming weeks.
The previous office in Cologne remains available for a transition period – also by phone. The Institute of the German Textile Indelegt (ITE GmbH), which among other things operates the BTE Clearing Center and organizes event formats such as the BTE Congress and the BTE-Digital Day, remains in Cologne. The ITE contact details do not change either.
