Los angeles protest: When Donald Trump took power in America in the year 2024, he promised to make America a great nation. However, this time his policies looked a bit changed. Riots due to immigrant policies

In many cities of America, including Los Angeles, people started demonstrations against the action of Ice (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and the immigration policies of President Donald Trump. The protesters allege that immigrants are being treated inhumanly, which should not be. At least 378 people have been arrested in this ruckus which has been going on for 4 days.

Waymo cars and got angry

On 8 June, a separate picture of the protest surfaced when the protesters set the self-driving cars of Waymo in Los Angeles on fire. The company is a branch of Google’s parent company Alphabet and runs the first robotaxi service in the US. The protesters believe that such technology is becoming a weapon of government monitoring and control.

Clash between police and protesters

The tension between police and hundreds of protesters increased in Paramount and Downtown Los Angeles. In order to bring the situation under control, the police released tear gas shells and force was also used in some places. The same series continued on 8-9 and 10 June. About 23 businesses have been looted in the city. To control uncontrolled protesters, 700 marines and more than 4000 personnel have converted Los Angeles into a cantonment.

Arrest and injured policeman

The police arrested about 30 protesters on Saturday. Three of them are accused of attacking policemen, while three deputy lionif officers have been marginally injured. Due to such incidents and fierce demonstrations, the government deployed National Guards, which further increased the uproar.

Seeing the situation worsening, the contingents of California National Guard were deployed in LA. However, it gave rise to a new controversy when the state’s Democratic Governor criticized it and said that the federal government has sent military force without the permission of the state government, which is legally wrong.

There is a feeling among the protesters regarding Waymo and other tech companies that these companies are violating the privacy of the public with the government. The protesters say that robotic technology can be used for monitoring, so they are harming the property.
