According to News18, all 242 people aboard the aircraft have died in this accident.

According to preliminary information, flight number AI 171 from Ahmedabad to Gatwick (UK) crashed in Meghani Nagar soon after flying 787 aircraft. This caused a stir in the area. The aircraft had 242 people, including 12 members of the crew. At present, the work of saving the injured in the accident is going on.

An official said that rescue and relief work is going on at Air India aircraft accident site in Ahmedabad. Green corridors are being built to take the injured passengers to the hospital for treatment. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel over the phone.

According to reports, teams of BSF and NDRF have been dispatched on the spot for rescue operation. Fire department official Jayesh Khadia said that it caught fire after the aircraft fell. Fire fire trains have been sent to the spot to extinguish the fire. Air India chairman N. Chandrasekaran said that the airlines are making every effort to help the emergency response teams at the aircraft accident site.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu. PM Modi took stock of the incident of Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad. He told the Prime Minister that he is going to Ahmedabad to monitor rescue and relief operations. The Prime Minister has directed the minister to provide all the necessary assistance immediately and asked to be updated regularly about the situation. All concerned agencies are on high alert and coordinated efforts are on.

According to news agency ANI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Home Minister and Police Commissioner regarding the aircraft accident. He has also assured to provide the assistance of the central government. Three teams with 90 personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been sent from Gandhinagar to the plane crash site. According to media reports, former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is also in an Air India crashed aircraft. However, it is still awaiting official confirmation. Amit Shah has left for Gujarat.
