Ahmedabad plane crash: Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Civil Hospital in Asarwa, Ahmedabad on Thursday evening, where he met people injured in an Air India flight AI171 accident. Amit Shah said that the entire country is in mourning after the tragic accident of Air India flight in Ahmedabad. Expressing condolences to the people killed in the accident, Amit Shah assured that the government is standing firmly with the families of the deceased in this hour and is giving full support to them.
Amit Shah said that after the accident, the fire spread so fast that there was no chance to save anything. The Union Home Minister said, ‘The aircraft had 230 passengers and 12 crew members from the country and abroad in total. Out of this, 1 passenger has got good news of survival. I have come together. The death figure will be officially released only after DNA testing and identification of passengers. Immediately after the incident, the Gujarat government alerted all the units of disaster management and started relief rescue work. The aircraft had 1.25 million liters of fuel. Due to which the temperature became so high that no one got a chance to save. The work of removing the bodies of all passengers is almost complete. The work of taking DNA of all the passengers who have reached will also be completed in 2-3 hours. Those whose families are abroad have been informed.

Amit Shah visits hospital
The Union Home Minister reached the Civil Hospital in Asarwa, Ahmedabad after an Air India aircraft accident near Ahmedabad Airport. Here he met the injured and took stock of emergency services at the ground level. The minister’s visit took place a few hours after this tragic accident, in which more than 240 people died and dozens were injured. During his visit, Amit Shah also held a high-level meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Home Affairs and Government of Gujarat. The purpose of this meeting was to coordinate in rescue, medical response and investigation efforts.
Assurance was given for mourning and quick action
Earlier in the day, Amit Shah wrote in a post on ‘X’ that he is unhappy with words ‘beyond the tragic aircraft accident in Ahmedabad’. Amit Shah said that the disaster response forces were immediately deployed at the scene and he took stock of the situation by talking to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi and Ahmedabad Police Commissioner and coordinated in emergency efforts on the ground.
Aircraft fell down after a minute of flight
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, going to Gatvik Airport in London, crashed only a few minutes after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft collided with a hostel of doctors near a medical college. The collision caused a major explosion, killing passengers, crew members and several people on the ground. According to the latest information, more than 200 bodies have been recovered so far and DNA testing is going on to help the victims identify.
