Washington. US President Donald Trump expressed deep grief over the destructive Air India Flight AI171 accident in Ahmedabad and assured India of full American support. Trump said in a statement on Thursday, “This aircraft accident was very terrible. I have already told them – whatever we can do… we are ready to do. We will reach there immediately.” Trump called the Air India aircraft accident “one of the most deadly accidents in Aviation History”.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, in which 242 people were aboard, crashed soon after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, killing more than 200 passengers and crew members. Many foreign nationals were also involved in this. Among the dead were 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese, 1 Canadian and 169 Indian citizens.

World leaders expressed condolences
Global leaders mourned after the Ahmedabad aircraft accident. French President Emmanuel Macron received information about this tragedy with “deep feelings” and expressed condolences to the families of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the victims. He said, “In these tragic watches, I express my condolences to the loved ones of the victims and the Prime Minister @narendramodi.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed “deep condolences” on the “tragic consequences” of the accident in a formal message sent by the Kremlin and wished the injured “early health”. British Prime Minister Kir Stmper, whose country lost 53 citizens in the accident, described the accident as “destructive”. He said in a statement on X, “I am receiving updates about the development of the situation, and my condolences are with the passengers and their families in this deep sad time.”

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney also expressed deep grief over this tragic Air India accident in Ahmedabad, killing a Canadian citizen. He wrote on X, “I am very sad about the news of Air India aircraft being going to London in Ahmedabad, including 242 passengers – including a Canadian. My condolences are with the loved ones of all the passengers.”
