Soon after departing for London’s Gatwick Airport, a plan crashed in the North -West city of Ahmedabad in India in the state of Gujarat on Thursday.
Police said that 242 passengers and crew were on the board at that time.
Air India flight 171 ‘involved in a tragic accident’
Air India president Natarajan Chandrashekaran said in a statement, “With intensive grief I confirm that Air India Flight 171 operating Ahmedabad London Gatwick was involved in a tragedy accident today.”
Some time ago, the airline posted on social media that the aircraft included bee in an incident.
The aircraft is listed as Boeing 787–8 Dreamliner, which is capable of transporting 200 passengers more.
India’s aviation minister shocked
Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarpu said he was “surprised and destroyed to know about the accident in Ahmedabad,” in a post on X.
Hey that rescue teams were gathered and “all efforts are being made to ensure that medical aid and relief support is being taken to the site.”
The minister said, “My views and prayers are with the board and all the people of their families.”
