The Meghalaya Police has made a shocking disclosure in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a businessman of Indore. Investigators revealed that the killers had planned to kill an unknown woman and burn her body, so that she was the king’s wife Sonam Raghuvanshi. Police said that its purpose was to give more time to Sonam to hide before the truth came to light. SP Vivek Sayam of Eastern Khasi Hills said that Raj Kushwaha was the mastermind of the conspiracy of murder and Sonam Raghuvanshi is his partner.

According to Hindustan Times, the entire conspiracy to end King Raghuvanshi was decided in Indore shortly before his marriage. The accused said that before the murder of the king, three more schemes related to the murder were also made, which could not be completed.

Sayam said that the four killers arrested, including Raj Kushwaha, are friends of Sonam and Raj, one of whom is Raj’s cousin. The murder plan began to be built in February three months before marriage. Sonam reached Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh on 9 June and surrendered, which is about 1,200 km away.

Plan to kill a woman and tell her Sonam

The official also said that one plan was to convince people that Sonam was swept away in the river, while the other plan was to kill any woman and put her body in Sonam’s scooter and burn it and claim that it was Sonam’s body.

The three these three arrived a few days before the newly married couple reached Assam on May 19, and they initially planned to end the king somewhere in Guwahati. According to the report, because both plans did not succeed, they planned to come to Shillong and then Sohra.

They all met in Nongriat and left for Weisadong Falls together. There, the three attacked the king with a knife in the parking lot and killed her in front of Sonam and threw the body in a ditch.

Sonam gave Akash the raincoat that she was wearing, because she had blood stains on her shirt. He left Vesavadong with a scooter, and Akash later threw the raincoat as he also had blood stains.

Raj gave a burqa to Sonam through Vishal Chauhan and used it to travel from Shillong to Indore. A tour guide later claimed that he had seen Sonam and Raj with three others.

Raj asked him to leave Indore and come back to Siliguri and described himself as a victim of kidnapping. But after the arrest of Akash on 8 June, Raj got nervous and called Sonam to her family and asked her that she had survived the kidnapping. Sonam then appeared in Ghazipur and was later taken into custody.
