Helicopter Crash in Uttarakhand kills 7 – DW – 06/15/2025

Local media said Hindu pilgrims were thrown out of a helicopter from a pilgrimage site in the state of Uttarakhand in northern India on Sunday, killing all seven including the pilot, stated by the local media.

State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said in a post on X, “There has been a very sad news about a helicopter crash in Rudraprayag district.”

He said that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local authorities and rescue teams had started relief operations.

The helicopter scored around 5:20 runs in local time (2350 GMT) and crashed soon during his 10 -minute visit.

Officials said a fire broke out after the accident that burns the bodies badly.

The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority said that the helicopter was traveling from Shri Kedarnath Dham to Guptkashi and said that one of the passes was a 2 -year -old girl.

It sent a team to the accident site to investigate the cause behind the accident.

Locals who went to collect fodder for their cattle, saw the helicopter debris and alerted the authorities, Indian news magazine Week Informed

District Tourism Officer Rahul Chefen Media has made a war that the accident occurred due to bad weather.

The deceased were Indians from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Helicopter is a convenient way of getting into difficult terrain, but high altitude flights and unexpected weather have created mercosage accidents.

In May, a helicopter crashed on the way to Gangotri Dham in the state, killing six. Another helicopter was to make an emergency landing in June, where the pilot suffered injuries.

India recently faced a deadly flight accident in the city of Ahmedabad, killing 270.
