May WPI Inflation Data: In May wholesale inflation rate came to a 14 -month low, May Core WPI

May wpi: The country’s wholesale inflation rate has come to a 14 -month low in May 2025. The wholesale inflation rate (WPI) of May has stood at 0.39 per cent. Whereas in April 2024 it stood at 0.85 percent. In May, wholesale inflation was estimated to be 0.80 per cent. The wholesale inflation rate in May 2025 was at the lowest level since 14 March 2024. In May, the core WPI has come down from 1.5 per cent to 0.9 per cent on a month -after -month basis.

The wholesale inflation (WPI) of the primary article has declined from April -1.44 per cent to -2.02 per cent in May 2025, on a month -to -month basis. At the same time, the wholesale inflation of food and drink has been reduced from 2.55 per cent to 1.72 per cent of April. The country’s manufacturing WPI declined from 2.62 per cent to 2.04 per cent in May in May.

Potato wholesale inflation in May has come down from -24.30 per cent to -29.42 per cent in April. At the same time, WPI of Fuel and Power has declined from -2.18 percent to -2.27 percent. In May 2025, the wholesale inflation rate of onion declined from 0.20 per cent in April to -14.41 per cent. At the same time, the wholesale inflation of vegetables has come down from April -18.26 percent to -21.62 percent.

The wholesale inflation of eggs, meat and fish in May has come down from -0.29 per cent to -1.01 per cent in April. While the inflation rate of grain has come down from 3.81 percent to 2.56 percent on a month -after -month basis. The wholesale inflation of milk in May increased from 0.59 per cent to 2.66 per cent in April.
