New ways to see Sun – DW – 06/16/2025

For the first time solar orbiter, ESA and NASA Mission came, which revealed the Sun’s poles for the first time in early June 2025.

then came Proba -3Less than a week later. It is another European mission, launched from India in December 2024, to inspect the solar corona – the external environment.

To do this, Prob -3 has achieved another one and earlier.

The mission has two spacecraft flying 150 meters (492 ft). Together, they demonstrated a millimeter-precious flight maneuver to make one shade to make another to make an artificial solar eclipse.

This allowed Prob -3 to block the fierce face of the Sun, leaving only the corona around it. No other spacecraft has seen the sun’s corona close to the solar rim.

Why scientists are interested in solar corona

Scientists are somewhat amazed by solar corona, and in its entirety are relatively relative intercourse to obberwe.

The solar corona has three different regions: high corona, low corona and a difference between the middle. While high coronas and low coronuses are tools to study, the difference is usually seen from the Earth only during a natural solar eclipse.

Another secret: Solar corona is much hot than the sun on its surface.

The temperature in Corona can reach more than 1.1 million degrees Celsius (about 2 million degrees Fahrenheit). The surface of the sun, however, rests on one Cold 5.500 ° C (about 10,000 ° F). Perhaps stranger still, the sun’s core is 15 million degrees Celsius a bang.

Astronomers feel that because the solar corona is away from the surface – and reaches far in space – it should be cold, not warm.

Proba -3: A test of new space technology

Traditional telescopes will be blinded with sunlight, dead to see Corona. But the oocular blocks the light correctly. With measuring just 1.4 meters (4.5 ft) with a disc, it only casts a wide shade-deleted to make artificial eclipse.

ESA director Dietamar Pilz said, “Thesis is exciting to see stunning images validated by our technologies.”

They fly autonomously using star-trikers, helping them to identify constellations and GPS for further positions.

New ways to seize the sun on Uday

Astronomers are quickly attained in the sun. In early June 2025, ESA and NASA released the first images of solar poles captured by Solar Orbiter.

Solar orbiter Uses a newly designed orbit to collect data on how the poles and the sun’s magnetic fields, solar cycles and solar weather work.

“Surya’s poles are literally Terra Inkognita,” said Sami Solanki of Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in the ESA press release on 11 June.

Nasal Parker Solar Sample In 2021, solar became the first spacecraft to fly through Corona. This test was designed to withstand the heat and radiation of the sun and give some closest comments of our star.

Prob -3 mission SO aims to improve scientific understanding of solar weather, such as coronal mass ejections and solar storms. Extreme solar weather can affect telecom satellites and power grids on Earth.
