MP had to steal electricity heavy! 6 lakh rupees had to be deposited, then got out of darkness

Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Burke from Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh deposited Rs 6 lakh in the electricity department as per the order of the High Court on Tuesday. After this, the way to re -connect the electricity of his house was cleared. Two days later, on December 19, the Electricity Department conducted a load check at his house and alleged that they were stealing electricity.

During the investigation, officials found that more than 16 kW of electricity was being used in their house, which was much higher than the fixed limit. The investigation of meter reading instrument found that the power consumption in the house was zero for several months. On this basis, the Electricity Department imposed a heavy fine of Rs 1.91 crore on MP Ziaur Rehman Burke and registered a case of power theft. Later on June 3, the High Court ordered that Burke would have to deposit Rs 6 lakh as a temporary relief before adding the electricity connection.

Under this court order, Burke’s lawyer Farid Ahmed reached the power department office on Tuesday and submitted a demand draft of Rs 6 lakh. Along with this, he also requested to start power supply immediately.

We have deposited this amount today and it is expected that the power supply will start soon.” At the same time, Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department Naveen Gautam said, “Action was taken on the basis of complaint of power theft in the MP’s house. A demand draft of Rs 6 lakh has been submitted today on the instructions of the court and today their connection is being restored.” Now the next hearing of the case will be held in the High Court on July 2, where it will be decided whether the fine is valid or not and the rest of the issues will also be considered. Meanwhile, MP Burke says he was not given full opportunity to present his case.
