Germany sees record number of anti -Muslim incidents in 2024
According to a Civil Society report published on Tuesday by the organization’s claim, Germany has recorded a new high in abetment Islamophobic.
“Report of the status of the Civil Society on anti-Muslim racism” documentation of 3.080 cases of attacks and discrimination in 2024-an increase of 60% from the last year 1.926 cases. In 2022, there were 898 cases.
On average, more incidents occurred per day. Oral attacks created the largest share with 1.558 cases (about 56%). Another 25% was classified as discrimination, and 21% was included in behavior.
The education of Germany, a report supported by the Ministry of Family and Internal, is registered for an increase in serious. Clame documentation of 198 cases of two murders and physical damage, including three attempts or serious injuries – from zero murders and 182 physical damage cases in 2023.
Of the events in 2024, 968 targeted individuals, while 261 included groups and 72 affected religious institutions, mainly mosques. In 71% of cases where gender was recorded, the victims were women.
According to the claim, Anti-Muslims raised the attacks of Hamas after Hamas’s October 7, 2023, an increase in antisementic events.
“This report is shocking,” said Reema Hanano, co-executive director of the claim. He described the discovery as a “new dimension” and a “warning sign”, not only highlighted the increase in the number of events, but therefore in the normalization, growth and cruelty of anti -Muslim racism.
