Amarnath yatra by helicopter: Helicopter service will not be available for the devotees of Baba Barfani during the Amarnath Yatra this year. The Jammu and Kashmir government has declared the journey routes as ‘no flying zone’, increasing security measures for the annual Amarnath Yatra. For the Amarnath Yatra, pilgrims use two routes traditional Pahalgam route and Baltal route. Therefore, during the Amarnath Yatra, Pahalgam and Baltal routes have been declared the flying zone from July 1 to August 10. In such a situation, helicopter service will not be available for the devotees during the journey.
All arrangements including multi -level security deployment in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir have been finalized for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. An official said that the system was finalized in a meeting chaired by Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Samba to ensure uninterrupted and safe pilgrimage for the devotees who come here.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Virendra Singh Manhas also attended this meeting. The 38 -day journey for the Holy Amarnath Cave Temple, located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas, is scheduled to start from Pahalgam and Baltal in Kashmir Valley on 3 July.
The first batch of pilgrims will leave for Kashmir from Bhagwati Nagar camp on July 2 and the same evening will reach the Baltal base camps on Nuwan and Sonamarg Marg on Pahalgam Marg. Officials said that the Jammu and Kashmir administration has given priority to the convenience of pilgrims through all the systems.
New guidelines released
On the orders of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the announcement issued by the Home Department of Jammu and Kashmir said that it is prohibited to fly any type of aviation, including unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, balloons from July 1 to August 10. This ban will not be applicable to patients with aircraft for treatment, disaster management and monitoring flights by security forces. It has been said in the order that various security arrangements are being made for the smooth and peaceful operation of the yatra in view of Shri Amarnathji Yatra starting from July 3.
The statement said that the Union Home Ministry has also advised that the entire route of Shri Amarnathji Yatra should be declared ‘No Flying Zone’ from July 1 to August 10. The order states, “Therefore, all the routes of the journey are declared ‘no flying zone’ with the aim of ensuring strong security during Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2025, including both Pahalgam and Baltal routes.”

Security measures have been increased after the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam. 26 people were killed in this attack. The Amarnath Yatra involves thousands of pilgrims from across the country every year. This Amarnath Yatra has been targeted by terrorists many times in the past. The last major attack took place in July 2017, when eight pilgrims died.
