The right swipe on a dating app of a person from Delhi turned into a bad dream, when he came to know that he had a huge scam. Sharing his scary experience on Redit’s R/legaladviceindia subredit, the user said that his date had asked him to meet him at a cafe named Locus in East of Kailash, Delhi. Then his date began ordering jagerbombs, it is a shot of the jormeter, adding energy drinks. When the price of a shot was ₹ 1,200, the man said that he has only ₹ 3,000 to spend on his date. This person called the girl’s name Bhoomi. When Bhoomi again called for the bill, this man was surprised to see it.
Bill became 11, 958 rupees. The mind deteriorated when his date i.e. Bhoomi said that he has only 100 rupees. Troubled, the person asked the cafe employees to distribute the bills and stop the girl from going out of the cafe.

As the land came out of the cafe, the restaurant’s alleged mistress Varsha threatened the man that he would have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 separately with the bill, which would make his total “bill” to Rs 22,000.
The person also claimed that after protesting and interacting with the employees of Varsha and Loks Cafe, he asked his friend to come to the cafe and take him out. The case was finalized for Rs 2,500.
A redit user wrote on the pain of the man, “The girl was kept in the pub just to increase sales. It is a well-known scam.”
Cafe Loks rating is quite bad
Taking a look at Google reviews shows that the rating of Cafe Loks is quite poor.
One user wrote in his review, “The terrible experience – as trapped in a trap! I have been the worst experience ever in the Loks Lounge and Cafe Bar in Greater Kailash Colony. The atmosphere is not at all as they say, but not just bad.
She further said, “This place runs on a business model like a net. A girl named Varsha contacted me, it seems that she came with me only for conversation – but soon it became clear that all this was part of a setup. Without asking me, expensive things were added to the bill – such drinks that I did not order, food that I did not get to tasting was too much, and there was a lot of money, the price was shocked, and there was a lot of money.
Another user also shared a similar experience. He wrote, “This is a restaurant and bar is a scam. Very high price. A shot of a jagmaster is Rs 1200 and Rs 500 for the red bull. 10% servicing charge is not optional, you have to pay and in addition to that they will also charge you 25% VAT. I suggest not to go to this restaurant.”
One user said, “This place is fraud. Please stay away from here and their agents. They ruined our night out and destroyed more than Rs 10,000.”
What is this dating scam?
These days the dating app scam is not a big deal, but many men have become victims of matches that are found with suspected cafes or restaurants. These are the same cafes or restaurants, who make too much bill and threaten to take action if they do not make full payment.
Journalist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj has told about the dating app scams, in which at least a dozen victims were bills ranging from Rs 23,000 to Rs 60,000.
Bhardwaj described his viral thread on ‘X’, mentioning a cafe named The Godfather in Mumbai and allegedly the center of dating scams.
The methods mentioned in viral thread were simple. The women ordered drinks, hookahs, shots etc. without showing the menu card to the victims. Only after the bill came, the men came to know that they had gone on a date that they will remember throughout their life.
