The United States announced on Wednesday that it would resume foreign students processing visa applications, but all applicants will now be requested to make their social media accounts available for review.
The State Department said that an applicant may be taken as a sign, a sign that they are trying to hide their online activity.

Under internal guidance sent to consular officers and cited by Associated Press, the department stated that employees should “seek any signal of hostility towards citizens, culture, government, institutions, or founding principles of the United States.”
The Trump administration temporarily stopped scheduling of new visa interviews for foreign students last month, eagerly waiting for students around the world to reopen appointments.
With the conclusion of the window to arrange travel and housing, students from China, India, Mexico and Philippines are posting on social networks that they are refreshing websites and following the folding state department for any Hintal applications.
