Under internal guidance sent to consular officers and cited by Associated Press, the department stated that employees should “seek any signal of hostility towards citizens, culture, government, institutions, or founding principles of the United States.”
The Trump administration temporarily stopped scheduling of new visa interviews for foreign students last month, eagerly waiting for students around the world to reopen appointments.
