Hurricane Eric is weakened as residents debris – DW – 06/20/2025

Eric made a landfall on Thursday as a category 3 storm in the southern state of Mexico, which was downed by a category 4 a time ago.

It collides at the wind speed of up to 205 kilometers per hour (about 130 mph), however, in the middle -middle, after domestic, Eric weakened to a tropical storm, in which continuous winds weakened by 85 kilometers per hour.

Officials warned that Eric’s intense rains are dangerous.

The US National Hurricane Center has warned that the danger to life is likely to flood and mudslides, especially in the region with steep areas.

He has predicted that Gurroe can get 8 inches (20 cm) of rain, while its neighboring states, Oxaca and Michoacan can expect up to 4 inches.

Eric leaves some loss, but no injury

After the storm made a landfall, Mexican President Claudia Shinbam said, “People have reacted very well so far.”

For reports, Eric released flood roads and damaged boats and buildings in Oxacaka, but inhabitants from coastal cities have started cleaning the debris.

At a press conference, Laura Velazakez, the head of the Mexico’s Civil Protection Agency, said that there was no immediate report of deaths.

He said two hospitals were damaged and power supply was compromised.

State-rummed utility company CFE told Mauhile that more than 123,000 users had lost electricity in Oxaca and that service was restored by 26% of them by late morning.

Oxaka governor Salomon Zara said that the roads and highways were very damaged.
