The story is around 250–300 years old. A priest lived in a Shiva temple in Varanasi, who was weak in walking. People used to call him with love as “lame priests”. The same priest planted a mango tree in his ashram.
Children’s mischief made lame mango
It is said that children used to stoned to break the mangoes on that tree. The priest would run with a stick. This funny anecdote became famous throughout the area. Everyone jokingly called the mango of that tree “lame mango”.
