Lic bima sakhi yojana: For women who want to work from home, the insurance Sakhi scheme of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is a great option. Under the joint initiative of the Central Government and LIC, women are trained to become LIC agents in this scheme. During training, ₹ 5,000 to ₹ 7,000 gets stipe, and women can work as LIC agents in their field after successful training. The government aims to prepare one lakh insurance friend annually.

What is insurance Sakhi Yojana?

The objective of the Insurance Sakhi scheme is to make women from rural and semi-urban areas financially self-sufficient. Under this, selected women are given training related to insurance, financial literacy, customer dealing and policy sales. After completing the training, women are issued insurance friend certificate and LIC agent code.

How much is earning

During training, women are given a stipend of ₹ 5,000 to ₹ 7,000 every month. If a woman becomes an active LIC agent after training, she gets opportunities to earn as commission and incentives. Under the scheme, the female agent can earn an additional earning of up to ₹ 48,000 in the first year itself.

If a woman wants her to get stipend for three years, then the condition will be that 65% of the policies of the first year remain active next year.

Who can apply?

  • Only women can apply
  • Age should be between 18 and 70 years old
  • Minimum Qualification 10th Pass

Current LIC agents, employees or their close relatives are not eligible for this plan.

Application Process: Both online and offline options

Online application: Applications can be made on LIC’s official website Licindia.in or State Rural Livelihood Mission/CSC portal. The applicant has to upload documents like age, address, educational certificate, bank details and passport size photos.

Offline application: Interested women can fill the form by going to their nearest LIC branch, CSC center or panchayat office. Training is given to selected candidates through SMS or email.

During three years of training, complete information about the insurance business is given. Successful and active performing women can also reach posts like LIC Development Officer in future. This scheme is not only a means of earning, but is also a strong step towards making women financially empowered.
