The Central Association of German Schuhmacher handicrafts (ZDS) officially canceled the ISS trade fair scheduled for March 7th to March 9th, 2026. The venue would have been the Rhein Main Congress Center (RMCC) in Wiesbaden. As the association reports, the decision was made after intensive consultations and the committee was not easy.
The decisive factor for the cancellation is the structural change in the industry. In view of changing market conditions and new forms of communication, the ZDS questions whether the usual trade fair and congress format is still the appropriate medium for exchange and material innovation.
The association thanks all partners: inside who had already agreed to participate in 2026 and hopes that the commitment to the craft will continue. A possible relaunch of the ISS in 2028 is to be decided at the end of 2026.
The ZDS emphasizes that it will continue to be looking for exchange with the industry and hopes for future opportunities for cooperation.
