Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishore on Thursday, while attacking Rahul Gandhi, accused the Congress leader of making fun of Biharis by sitting in Delhi. Also challenged him to spend one night in any village in Bihar. This comment has come at a time when political stir has intensified before the assembly elections held in Bihar at the end of this year.
Prashant Kishore said in an interview to news agency ANI, “Rahul ji keeps visiting Bihar, but really does not travel. If Rahul Gandhi has ever spent even a night in a village in Bihar, tell me. If he can spend even a night in a village, we will accept it.”
He said, “You sit in Delhi and laugh at Biharis. Then come here to preach us.”
Kishore also targeted Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s remarks about migrants from Bihar and asked him to apologize. He accused the Congress of neglect and disrespect to the people of Bihar.
Jan Suraj chief said, “Revanth Reddy is the Chief Minister in Telangana. It has been two years since he was in TDP and before that he was in RSS and BJP. After becoming the Chief Minister, he officially said that working is in the DNA of Biharis. Bihari people have been born to work.”
Kishore said, “Why did he say this? Because most of his rival KCR officials were from the background of Bihar. So he meant that Telangana is in a bad condition, because Bihari is running it.”
Attacking the Congress government, he said that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had announced a package of Rs 50,000 crore for Bihar in 1989 and said that he would make Bihar a center of development, but the funds were never allocated.
He asked, “Where did that money go? Even after that the Congress remained in power, then tell us, what did you do for Bihar?”
‘Caste is a factor, but not the only factor’
Prashant Kishore also said that caste is not the only factor in Bihar elections and he described the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar as an example of this.
The former political strategist said, “For the last 15 years in Bihar, BJP has been getting a lot of success in the Lok Sabha elections. Most people believe that BJP is not getting success, it is voting in the name of PM Modi.”
He said, “You said that every person in Bihar votes on caste -based politics and in Bihar you are saying that Modi is being voted in the name of Modi. So, tell us how many people of Modi’s caste live in Bihar? And if they do not live, how they voted for Modi?
