The shoe provider Caprice welcomed around 40 executives of the Werdich shoe store on June 25, including the management and numerous branch manager. The exchange between manufacturer and trade took place at the Caprice location in Pirmasens-the goal: a deeper understanding of product quality, market requirements and future prospects in shoe retail.
In addition to the presentation of the current Caprice and Peter-Kaiser collections, exclusive insights into the company’s technology and innovation center were on the program. Topics such as fit, choice of material and design trends were treated as well as the technological implementation of branded comfort solutions. In a practical unit for leather studies, leather specialists convey a lot of knowledge about leather types, their properties and artistic workmanship.
A highlight was the live circuit to an Asian Caprice production facility with over 1,100 employees. The guests were given the opportunity to speak directly to the technician Wolfgang Keller on site.
“The direct exchange with our retail partners is essential for us. Only if we understand and react the requirements of the market and react to it, we can be permanently successful,” emphasizes Jürgen Cölsch, Managing Director of Caprice Schuhproduktion GmbH & Co. KG. “Because so convincingly technological innovation, design and production know-how may be-it is crucial how our shoes at the point-of-sale are presented and sold to the customers. Our shoes and brands only get a face in shoe trade: There are committed and inspire committed sellers-and bring our stories and shoes directly into the hearts and to the feet of people. Cooperation.”
The importance of this exchange was also underlined on the trading side. The managing directors of the shoe store Werdich – Friedrich Werdich, Nora Johanna Werdich and Jörg Riemer – were convinced that the close integration between industry and trade is not only useful, but is essential for the future viability of both sides.
