The house was full of rotten corpses
It was a funeral home in a small town named Penroes, located about 160 km from Denwar, the capital of Colorado. In 2023, the police received a call. The caller was only complaining about ‘fierce smell’. When the investigators reached there, the view in front, he made his hair stand up. The bodies were lying in such a random manner in the rooms that there was no place to step. FBI had to lay wooden strips to avoid the liquid of the rotted body stored on the floor.
Families got cheated
Investigation also revealed that wrong bodies were cremated in some cases. Documents submitted in the court show that two families were given ashes of someone else in place of their relatives. John and his wife Carrie Holford are not only accused of misbehavior with bodies, but also of cheating $ 9 lakh (about ₹ 7.5 crore) in the Covid Relief Fund of the US government. He used this amount in luxury vehicles, crypto currency and branded jewels. The court has also ordered John Holford to compensate $ 1,070,413. Before hearing the jail sentence, John, who was standing in the court, was seen to be his mistake. He said, ‘I started this funeral home so that I could do something positive in people’s lives. But everything became uncontrollable.
