There have been reports of cloudburst in Baligarh in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This has caused heavy losses to an under -construction hotel site. 8-9 laborers have gone missing. Rescue work is going on. According to news agency ANI, District Magistrate Prashant Arya, District Magistrate of Uttarkashi, says that there was a cloudburst at Baligarh on Barkot-Yamunotri Road in the district. The under construction hotel site has suffered heavy damage and 8-9 laborers living on the site are missing.
He has told that the team of police, SDRF and NDRF have reached the spot. Rescue and search operations continue. Yamunotri Marg has also been affected. Videos of this cloudburst incident have also surfaced. The devastation in the video can be seen clearly.
Last month i.e. in May, a similar incident of cloudburst took place in Jagatkhana area of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. Due to heavy rains, there was a sudden flood in the drain and about 15 vehicles flowed into the Sutlej river.
