Confirming this on Sunday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said, “The monsoon reached the entire country on 29 June compared to the expected date of July 8.” The people of Delhi-NCR started with clouds and light rain on Sunday morning, which gave them a great relief from the scorching heat.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Himachal and Uttarakhand. There is an orange alert for Punjab, Haryana, West UP. Along with this, there is also a red alert for Odisha and Jharkhand. West is an orange alert for Bengal.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon reached Rajasthan, western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and the rest of Delhi on Sunday, which has now reached the entire country. The arrival of monsoon ahead of time is expected to have a good impact on farming in the states of North India. As soon as the monsoon is active, there is a possibility of moderate rain in Delhi in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Sunday for being cloudy, medium rains and thunderstorms.

The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 35 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has also predicted intermittent rain and heavy rains in some places. This year the monsoon knocked in Kerala on 24 May, which was about a week before normal. After this, it moved fast towards north and reached Mumbai on 26 May – it set the record for the early monsoon in Mumbai in the last 25 years. However, before the arrival of the monsoon, strong pre-monsoon rains were seen in many parts of the country in the month of May, due to the unusual increase of Western Disturbance (Weather System).
