According to the company, seven other workers were injured and were rushed to the hospital.

SMRC said it had suspended the work in the first mine which had collapsed and “warned against its continuous activity due to great risk for life.”
Civil War of Gold Dhan Sudan
Sudan is in the middle of a cruel civil war between military and a paramilitary called the Rapid Support Force (RSF). The efforts of both sides have been funded by large -scale gold mining as the battle began in 2023.
For sources of the mining industry and experts, a majority of gold extracted in Sudan is done by smuggling neighbor Chad, South Sudan or Egypt, coming before reaching the second largest gold exporter in the world.
The UAE has been widely accused of handling the RSF.
Thousands of people have been killed and 13 million others have been displaced in the war.
