On Friday morning, many people died after a building collapsed in Pakistani port city Karachi.
The rescue team continued searching for the remaining people in the debris of the collapsed building, which is located in Lyari, one of the city’s poorest areas.
Karachi – A movement with a population of over 20 million is the capital of the South Sindh province and serves as the economic center of Pakistan.
What else do we know about the collapse of the liery building?
The city’s mayor confirmed that seven people were killed in the incident and eight more bees were saved by workers of emergency services.
A senior police officer at the scene said that more than 100 people lived in bees in the building before crashed. Officials suspect that at least 8 or 10 more people may still get trapped inside.
A doctor at the Behutto Trauma Center in Karachi told Pakistani Daily Dawn It registered nine deadly from the incident, including a person who died during treatment.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tesari said in a post on platform X that he was “deeply unhappy” from the news, said he had directed the rescue services to “immediate and effective”.
Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari ordered an essential sample in the causes of the incident and called for effective measures to prevent similar incidents in future, according to a statement by Pakistan People’s Party (PP).
Rescuers struggle to reach the site
Rescuers have difficulty reaching the site with heavy equipment due to narrow street. At the scene, the police defeated the resident along with the trunks to clean the road.

Building towers are common in Pakistan, where the construction law is loose and oversight lax.
In June 2020, apartment building declined in Karachi, killing 22 people.
