New Delhi. Nirav Modi’s brother Nehal Deepak Modi’s difficulties have increased further. US officials have arrested him on the demand of the Government of India. Nehal Modi is accused that he deliberately hidden evidence in the Nirav Modi scam, threatened witnesses and played an active role in hiding the money and properties related to the scam. According to investigative agencies, when the investigation started in India, Nehal took 50 kg of gold from FIRESTAR DIAMOND FZE company in Dubai and disappeared. He himself was monitoring this entire process and was trying to delete all the necessary records, accounts and data from his employees.

Apart from this, Nehal Modi also captured Diamond Jewelery of about $ 6 million (about Rs 50 crore) from Hong Kong, 150 box beads, and 3.5 million dirham cash and 50 kg of gold from Dubai. He carried out all this work with one of his companions Mihir Bhansali. According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Nehal not only removed physical evidence but also destroyed digital evidence like mobile phones and servers. All the digital data in Dubai was completely abolished.

Not only this, Nehal Modi intimidated some witnesses (CAIRO), where their passports were confiscated and they were signed on false documents. In one case, Nehal asked a witness to give fake testimony in Europe’s court by giving a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. ED says that Nehal Modi has committed crime by being involved in money laundering under Section 3 of PMLA, and he should be punished under Section 4.

The Government of India had officially demanded the extradition of Nehal Modi, which has now been taken action from the US. It is expected that the process of bringing Nehal Modi to India will start in the coming days. Nehal (46) is accused in the alleged fraud case of Rs 13,000 crore associated with Punjab National Bank. This case is one of the biggest fraud cases ever. The accusation of fraud is on the two brothers (Nirav and Nihal Modi) and their relatives Mehul Choksi.
