According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, the rains associated with the Chental storm have already started moving towards the coast. Officials have warned that the possibility of sudden floods is increasing. It is estimated that the system will knock in South Carolina in the next few hours, and it is expected to weaken rapidly as he moves forward in the coastal region. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rains in some parts of northern Carolina till Monday. It is estimated that there will be a total of 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) of rain. Due to which the possibility of local floods has increased.

At the same time, at least 51 people died in a sudden flood in Texas, USA, while 27 girls who joined a ‘Summer Camp’ are still missing. Due to floods in Ker County, at least 43 people, including 15 children, died and many people were killed in the surrounding areas. The water level of the Gwadalup river rose 26 feet in 45 minutes, trees were uprooted, vehicles were swept away and many buildings were damaged.

‘Summer Camps’ have been organized in sensitive areas for years in terms of floods, where thousands of children come every year. 27 girls of ‘Mystic Camp’ are missing on the banks of the Gwadalup river in Hunt area. Helicopters, boats and drones are being taken in rescue operations and more than 850 people have been rescued so far. Governor Greg Abbott said that the officials will continue relief and rescue operations round the clock. Local people allege that the administration did not give any prior warning of floods.
