Tether, the USDT stablecoin issuing company, announced that as of September 1, 2025, the support of its cryptocurrency will cease in five cryptocurrency networks: OMNI, Bitcoin Cash SLP, Kusama, Eos and Algorand. The choice of these five networks is not arbitrary. Omni, one of the first to support USDT in 2014, has seen a significant decrease in its use. Bitcoin Cash SLP, meanwhile, failed to maintain a solid user base against others. Kusama, known as the Polkadot experimental network, faces similar limitations, while EOS and Algorand have lost relevance to the rise of other networks.
