Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was buried in his home in the north of the country on Tuesday.

The current President of the country said that thousands of people went out to pay their honors with Teenubu, so participated in the service.

Buhari died on Sunday, at the age of 82, in London, after battling an unknown disease. He often traveled to the city to seek medical help during his presidential post.

Buhari led Nigeria twice, once between 1983 and 1985 as a military dictator, then a democratically chosen President Stamin from 2015 to 2023.

But in 2023, after handing over power to his successor, Tinubu, he retreated from the public’s eyes, as he was struggling with the disease that never disclosed.

Buhari’s legacy includes comprehensive clampdown on human rights, separatist economic policies and insecurity.

What else do we know about Buhari’s memorial service?

The coffin of Buhari, wrapped in white and green national colors of Nigeria, reached the airport in the first Katsina state on Tuesday.

The coffin was obtained by men and women in Tinubu, government officials and traditional Muslim dress.

There was a military parade hero at the airport, as the 21 gun salute was fired in his honor, before he was taken to his house, about 49 miles (80 kilometers) away.

Tinu has announced a seven -day national mourning to honor Buhari’s life, on Tuesday, a public holiday.
