Rumors of reshuffle in a government were roaming in Ukraine for the last three years and now they have become a reality. On Thursday, the Ukrainian Parliament approved the nomination of Yulia Sevidenco as Prime Minister. Svyrydenko is a former economy minister who was already Deputy Prime Minister.
On Wednesday, Parliament approved the resignation of Prime Minister Dennis Shamihal. As a result, the cabinet was automatically dissolved. Shamihal was in office for more than five years – for a long time compared to any other Ukrainian Prime Minister in front of him.
The 39 -year -old Svyrydenko gained prominence during the weeks of interaction with the US about the mineral deal signed in Washington in late April. He proved himself a difficult negotiator.
Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky said it was necessary to re -organize the Executive Branch in Ukraine to implement the agreements reached with international partners.
New appointments under martial law
Under Ukrainian law, elections may not be held while martial law is in place, which is still during the ongoing war with Russia. Article 10 of the rules on martial law states that this applies, “The right of the Supreme Council of Ukraine […]Ministry, other central and local executive agencies, […] Can not be said. ,
The representative of the opposition expressed doubts about the validity of the government’s reshuffle. “Parliament recently extended martial law and can now violate Article 10, even though everyone agrees that the law will have to be clarified or modified first,” Yaroslav Zelezenic explained the opposition Holos (“Voice”) faction.
What Zelansky criticized to publicly offer the post of Prime Minister and thus violating the existing order, which can only be appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Parliament only on the recommendation of the Parliament, which in turn should be before the proposal of the government alliance. The Sevak of Zelansky of the People’s party currently has a majority in Parliament.
Is the Zelanceci dissatisfied with the government?
Beyond the vote on Thursday, Oleg Sakyan, co-founder of a political scientist and national platform for flexibility and social harmony, predicted that Parliament approved the nomination of a new Prime Minister for the reasons for the political campaign. The reshuffle was a long time overdue and was actually planned for 2024.
The main reasons for this were the ongoing tension within the government and in various AEAS “many clear management problems”, from defense sector to infrastructure and social policy. “The government wants to publicly define some of these stresses. It wants to achieve some new credibility,” Sakan argued.
No change in Ukrainian domestic policy is expected
However, a political scientist and a political think tank in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, a political scientist and head of Penta, suspected that any major domestic changes would be triggered by the Prime Minister’s change. He suggested, “The decisions of major politics will continue to be made by the President’s office and svyrydenko will implement them, as of the government,” he suggested.
Svyrydenko, who once served as Deputy Head of Ukraine Ukraine’s office under Ander Ander Yerm, is a Zelanceci confidant and is considered a young and dynamic politician, who potentially brings new perspectives on the table. Feso reported that he had the necessary “experience in working positions and working with international institutions.”
Will the government’s work change?
Petro Oleshchuk, a political scientist at the Taras Shevachhenko National University of Kiev, told DW that despite many high-level corruption scams, Zelancesi wanted to show confidence in his reshuffle instead of chainists.
Oleshchuk said, “The transfer of Shamil in another situation within the government is to show that there is no internal conflict. These are only changes of personnel within a team.”
Sakyan thinks that the fact that the government’s reshuffle was not widespread was real, it was real that there was a rapid shortage of qualified and reliable candidates. Hey that the new government will be forced to give quick results, but the future is doubted. “This is an adrenaline shot for the current government. But its quality will not change fundamental,” he predicted. Zelancesi has already underlined the major priorities of the new government, including Cathedral domestic weapons production, development defense projects and abolition of the economy.
