What is Phantanil, who brought America to his knees?
Fantenil is a painful drug. It is many times more powerful than morphine or heroin when used as intoxication. Doctors only give it to serious pain, but its consumption in the illegal market has caused havoc. According to the US National Institute of Drug Abuse, it is made completely in the lab without any natural element. But at present, most of the phentineiles that cause death from overdose are illegally made. Even a small amount of it can cause fatal overdose. This can happen even when a person takes a fantaneel without knowing if it is added to fake doctor’s prescription pills or other illegal medicines. Using the fentinyl test strips can reduce the risk of use of phentineyl -containing drugs.
Big change in law
Trump has signed a law on Wednesday, in which all the drugs similar to Fantanil are placed in the list of ‘most dangerous drugs’. This means that these drugs will now be considered as the most rigid category ‘Schedule I’ in the US, just as heroin or LSD is considered. The name of this law is ‘Halt All Little Trafficking of Fantanil Act’. This bill is part of the policies of Trump, in which the illegal smuggling of Fantanil has been counted among the biggest problems of America.
What does China say?
However, China dismisses this charge. Beijing claims that it has recently banned many such chemicals from which Fantanil is made. According to the data, China has run more than 1300 drug prosecutions in the first half of 2025 and made more than 700 arrests. China also said that it has seized more than 2 tonnes of narcotics so far this year and arrested 262 suspects. But America says that these steps are insufficient.
