US nominated Pahalgam attackers as a terrorist organization – DW – 07/18/2025

The United States on Thursday nominated the group behind the April Pahgam attack in India, killing 26 people, as a terrorist organization.

The US now lists resistance front (TRF) as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) and a specificly designated global terrorist (SDGT).

State Secretary Marco Rubio called TRF a “front and proxy” of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) and a nominated terrorist group.

Rubio said in a statement that the move reflects Washington’s commitment to terrorism and implements US President Donald Trump’s “call to justice” to the Pahgam killings.

US Move was seen as support for India

India welcomed the US decision, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar called it a “strong affinity” of Indo-US anti-terrorism cooperation.
