Peter Bangelmeier comes from a family of shoes. His grandmother opened a shoe store at Landstrasse 34 in Linz in 1937 as a very young woman – with 20 sqm. Over the years, the entrepreneur rented and bought any space in the house for her business. The shop grew and became an institution in Linz. Peter Bangelmeier drove as a child on the carousel in the child’s shoe department on the first floor. As a teenager, he helped out in the shop and accompanied his family to search for trade fairs. Then he moved into the world. In his professional career, however, he remained connected to the shoes: he gained experience in sales and retail near Högl, Stuart Weitzman, Peter Kaiser and Heschung.
Until 2020. The year that should change everything. The Eiler family was able to close the company after many decades. The shoe store was then managed by Bangelmeier’s cousins; The continuing difficulties in retail led to the decision to liquidate the company. The founder’s grandson was transferred to the handling – with confidence that he would bring enough emotional distance. Bangelmeier sold the remaining shares in the property and terminated all the necessary contracts. Termination deadlines forced him to wait – and that is exactly what he used. He used this time to carefully examine all structures. The thought of it matured in him that the ended end might be a beginning. And he felt the desire to try it himself as a dealer.
The result: the Eiler in the heart of Linz. A house with soul – every area lovingly designed, well thought out, with a feel for style and atmosphere. Premium sneakers and luxury women’s shoes can be found here as well as models in the middle price segment.
Peter Bangelmeier believes in his concept: “We have a unique range. We can offer service and have employees who can really sell. That is the reason why I did it all.”
