Skechers reacts to Kizik lawsuit – Schuhkurier

The company Handsfree Labs announced on July 24 to take action against Skechers. The sneaker manufacturer is accused of deliberately violating four usage patterns secured by hand-free-free Labs when using the slip-in technology.

Skechers explains to want to defend himself against these accusations in court. The company believes that Kizik’s allegations are unfounded. Skechers developed his own hands-free technology and did not violate any patents. Skecher’s President Michael Greenberg explains: “The time of this lawsuit is strange, since it has taken place immediately after the announcement of a fusion of Skechers with 3G capital worth $ 9.42 mrd. 2021, without having received a letter from Kizik. After announcing the merger, Kizik commissioned a law firm that is also used by Nike and attacks our entire slip-in product line. ” He continues that hands-free shoes have been on the market for a long time and have been further developed by various companies: “Hands-Free shoes have been around for at least one century. They were not invented in Utah in the 21st century. We have become the market leader in the field of hands-free shoes by innovation by further developing this idea with our own technology into a real hands-free fit.”
