Thousands of people gathered on Wednesday to honor the “Prince of Darkness” and Black Sabbath Frontman in the UK city of Birmingham.
Horse carrying Ozi Osbourne made its way through the city’s crowded roads, where he grew up and where Black Sabbath was formed in 1968.
Osbourne died at the age of 76 on July 22, a sold-out crowd a few weeks after a final gig. He was in poor health, a few years ago Parkinson’s diagnosis was made.
Fans pay their respect to Osbourne
Osbourne once said that he wanted his funeral to be a celebration, not “Mop-Festival.” Today was a mixture of sadness and celebration, as the crowd chanting “Ozi, Ozi, Ozi, Oi, Oi, Oi”.

From childhood home to Black Sabbath Bridge
The hors of Osbourne, with the arrangement of flowers, made its way through the streets of the city. Under the leadership of a Live Brass Band, the procession passed through his childhood home in the city’s Eston region, Broad Street and Black Sabbath Bench. Black Sabbath is widely credited to popularize the sound of heavy metal, and Osborne was known for its mythological antics, both and on the closed platform.

In June, Ozi and his back Sabbath Bandmates Terence Butler, Tony Iom and Bill were awarded the city’s freedom in the recognition of their services to the city of Birmingham.
He played his last farewell show for 42,000 fans in Birmingham in early July, with the Rajkumar of Darkness on a Black throne.
