F- 35 fighter jet crash: A major accident has been seen in California, USA on Wednesday evening. A F‑35 fighter aircraft of the American Navy crashed near the Naval Air Station Lemoore. The accident took place at 6:30 pm local time. According to the US Navy, the pilot riding on the aircraft left the parachute in time and saved his life. The press statement issued by the Navy told that the aircraft was part of the strike fighter Squadron VF‑125 Rough Reders. This unit works as a fleet replacement squadron, whose main task is to train pilots and aircraft.

The brightness of this fifth generation fighter jet is repeatedly fading due to crash, technical faults and expensive maintenance. Now the latest case has come up. Earlier in India too, the same jet raised questions on Western technology. On 14 June, an F‑35B aircraft of Britain’s Royal Navy made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram Airport in Kerala. Due to technical malfunctions, the aircraft stood there for more than a month. A team of British engineers arrived on 6 July with special spare parts and equipment, then the aircraft could be fixed.

Pictures of this ‘advanced’ fighter jet, standing at Thiruvananthapuram Airport for months, became very viral on social media. Mim became and questioned American technology. This is not the only accident in California on Wednesday. According to a report in January 2025, the F‑35 series has so far crashed more than 11.
