Argentina footballer Lionel Messi suffered an injury on Sunday that forced him to leave Inter Miami’s League Cup match against Nekaxa in Fort Lauderdel, Florida.
The injury occurred in the 11th minute when Bellon D’Or winner Nekaxa Defender escaped in Alexis Pena and fell to the ground. After the moments, when Messi was alone in the midfield, he sat on the ground and waited until the trainers arrived.
Once, the Star Forward footballer dropped out of the field under his power.
What do we know about injury?
After Miami drew 2–2, after winning 5-4 penalty shootouts on Nekaxa, manager Xavier Maschherano said Messi was experiencing “hamstring discomfort”.
“Okay, he felt discomfort, and we would not know how serious the injury is,” Masterano said in the match.
“Probably something. Perhaps it’s not as important because he was not in pain. But he felt a bridge.”
The 38 -year -old Messi joined Inter Miami in 2023 and is the captain of the club. He is a combined top scorer in the Major League soccer, two assistance in Miami’s first League Cup match against the top flight US League, 18 goals and the Atlas Gwadaljara.
Designer Barcelona superstar has dealt with various fitness issues during his time in Inter Miami, headed by David Beckham owned. In 2023, Messi appeared in just half of the 12 MLS Games of Inter Miami due to minor illnesses and injuries. In 2024, he used to deal with a torn foot muscles while playing for Argentina in the 2024 Copa America final.
