The assessments of economic development also remain reserved. Consumers do not fear any new recession, but also do not expect significant growth in the coming months. However, they are much more optimistic about the development of their own income situation. This positive view could be related to the currently lower inflation and the sunken energy prices.
According to HDE, whether the stagnation of consumer mood marks the beginning of a negative trend depends on the Federal Government’s economic policy decisions and the geopolitical framework.
