The tour seeks to give voice to entrepreneurs and developers who are starting.
The commission will travel cities such as California, Chicago, Boston, Cleveland and New York.
The United States Stock Exchange and Securities Commission (SEC) will start a national tour of meetings with representatives of cryptocurrency projects, with the intention especially to listen directly to the smallest actors in the ecosystem.
Under the name “Crypto Task Force On the Road” (Working Group on Cryptocurrencies along the way), This series of round tables will travel different cities in the country and will be led by Commissioner Hester Peircea key figure in the regulation of digital assets in the US.
The initiative seeks to include voices that have traditionally been outside the regulatory policies formulation process, especially those of emerging projects.
“We want to listen to those who may not have a voice in the previous regulatory efforts,” express Peirce in the official statement.
The tour is mainly directed to cryptocurrency projects with up to two years old and teams of no more than ten people.
According to the SEC statement, the objective is to give space to entrepreneurs and developers who are building from scratch, and that could be affected by future regulations.
The entity reported that those who wish to participate can request a meeting with the commissioner by sending an email to crypto@sec.gov with the issue “Crypto on the Road.” They must include the city in which they wish to attend, the names of one or two representatives and a brief description of the project and the team.
The SEC also announced that it will publish a list with the projects that participate in these meetings. They want to promote an open dialogue that allows us to collect a diversity of opinions before advancing with new regulations.
The tour will begin today in Berkeley, California, and will continue in the coming months for several key cities in the United States. The following stops will be: Boston on August 19, Dallas on September 4, Chicago on September 15 and New York on September 25.
Then, Commissioner Peirce and her team will visit Irvine, California (October 3), Cleveland (October 24) and Scottsdale, Arizona (October 29). The tour will conclude with a second visit to New York on November 12 and one last stop at Ann Arbor, Michigan, on December 5.
This tour is part of a broader movement of the SEC to adapt a proactive approach to cryptocurrencies. As Cryptonotics reported, the current president of the agency, Paul Atkins, recently presented the so -called Crypto project, an initiative that seeks to modernize the rules of the stock market to integrate cryptoactive networks.
The Plan contemplates promoting cryptocurrency self -ocustody, facilitating the development of financial “overcomplications” and establishing flexible regulatory frameworks that promote innovation without sacrificing investor protection.
