A government notice stated that some tourists coming to the US would sign a bond of up to $ 15,000 (€ 13,000) under a new pilot program in two weeks.

The purpose of the program proposed by the State Department is to curb the number of visitors who are more than their visas.

The notice stated that consular officers would get three options for visa applicants: $ 5,000, $ 10,000 or $ 15,000, but normally would require at least $ 10,000.

Bond requirements for visitors visiting the US have been proposed at one time, breaking the Trump administration on unwarded migration.

What do we know about the new program?

The program gives us the consoles to the consular officers to put bonds on visitors from high -rate countries of visa overstees, the Foreign Department said in the notice, which will be published in the US Federal Register on Tuesday.

Bonds want to apply to the people of the country who do not provide adequate screening and verification information, it was added.

The program, which will be applicable on August 20, will last for about a year. This will be applicable to B-1 or B-2 non-impregnant visa, and is asked to pay the bonds, entering and departing from the list of pre-selected airports from the United States.

“Pilot strengthens the commitment of the Trump administration to enforce the US immigration laws and protect the US national security,” a spokesman for the State Department told the AFP news agency.
