New Delhi. Today, US President Donald Trump has imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on India to buy raw oil from Russia. Now the total tariff on India has become 50 percent. It is reported that PM Modi is going to China to participate in the meeting of Shanghai Corporation Limited at the end of this month in response to Trump’s tariff. During this time, Chinese President Xi Jingpin may discuss the treatment of Trump’s tariff. Trump is quite aggressive towards BRICS countries. The question is bound to arise here how much tariff has been made by Trump on the rest of the BRICS country i.e. Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa. Let us tell you about it.

According to a report by Reuters and Bloomberg, 50% tariff on the US on Brazil has been implemented in July 2025. 100% tariff on Russia was imposed in March 2025. This is against Ukraine War and Dollar’s challenge. This tariff has been imposed on other products except oil-gas. On the other hand, talking about China, 25% tariff is already on it from the year 2018. Which was increased to 60% in June 2025. Trump imposed 30% tariff on South Africa in April 2025.

How much impact on India’s tariff?
According to the official data of the World Bank and the IMF, it may lead to India’s exports, especially on the drug, textiles and electronics sectors. India had a total export of $ 440 billion in the year 2024-25. IMF warned in the June 2025 report that India’s GDP growth was estimated at 6.8% in 2025-26, which could reduce by 0.5-1%. Trump’s decision is in danger of increasing inflation, as raw material prices will go up due to increase in import costs. However, domestic demand and service sector can handle India to some extent. According to the Finance Ministry, the government is working on increasing trade with export incentive schemes and other countries like Europe. Nevertheless, in the long run this tariff can change India’s global supply series.
