The war of tariff has now reached the World Trade Organization (WTO). Brazil has dragged US President Donald Trump directly into the WTO. Trump gave 50% tariff on Brazilian beef, coffee and sugar in one stroke. Earlier this tariff was 10%. Now it was increased by five times to 50% directly. Trump argues that this decision has been taken in response to the ongoing ‘Witch Hunt’ on the Zayer Bolsonaro. But now they will have to answer in WTO.

This decision of Brazil came soon after Trump’s tariff on India. Brazian’s Luiz Eneasio Lula Da Silva government has formally sent a notice to the US mission in WTO demanding negotiations. This is the first legal process to settle the WTO dispute and if America does not agree, the next step will be the case and punishment. Like India, Brazil has also challenged Trump’s unilateral arbitrariness. The only difference is that while India has not yet announced an open announcement of counter -tariffs, Brazil has launched a legal battle in WTO.

Are Trump all -round surrounded now?
Countries like India, Brazil, Indonesia are getting badly affected by American tariffs. Trump names it as ‘National Security’, but the question is, will the attack on business increase the security of America or loneliness? Brazil’s going to WTO is a big setback for America. Because if the WTO decided in favor of Brazil, Trump may have to return to the table of heavy fine, counter -tariff or agreement.
