US President Donald Trump ordered 800 National Guards to be deployed at Washington DC, while the crime rate was decreasing. Trump says that it is necessary to end the capture of gangs.

The interesting thing is that statistics are saying that the crime in Wastington DC is already decreasing. According to the Metropolitan police, violent crime declined by 35% in 2024, FBI is also declining by 9%. In early 2025, the robbery decreased by 25% and the murders were reduced by 12%. That is, the condition was improving, but Trump still removed the army.
It is not a small matter to take the national guard on the streets like this. In America, these forces are usually imposed in a situation related to disaster, big riots or national security. And this time the most interesting thing was neither a large -scale riot in DC, nor the crime rate was at record level. Rather, the figures are telling something else.
Why land
Trump says that it is necessary to eliminate the capture of the gangs, keep the capital safe. Even before, National Guards have landed here. The Trump administration deployed hundreds of guards during the Black Live Matter Protests in 2020, when the confrontation between the police and the protesters was at its peak. After the riots on Capital Hill on 6 January in 2021, thousands of national guards were deployed for security. After the murder of Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968, the guards took to the streets even after violence in DC erupted. But the difference is that the situation was really uncontrollable on all these occasions. This time the situation looked normal, yet many people are shocked to take 800 soldiers.
