According to the Creditreform Debitor register, the average payment term was 31.46 days, two years ago it was 29.93 days. Large companies in particular were able to implement longer deadlines, while smaller companies tended to receive shorter payment terms.
Despite this development, the volume and the duration of open demands decreased. Overdue invoices were paid on average after 7.89 days – the lowest value in ten years. The average outstanding volume of claims per debtor also fell from 23,618 euros in the previous year to 19,848 euros.
In the B2B area, invoices were paid on average after 39.35 days, which is an acceleration compared to earlier years. The average invoice value fell to 1,960 euros and thus reflects the weak economy.
The analysis is based on 3.55 million invoice documents from Germany’s debtor register, which contains data at around 1.07 million companies and 1,160 industries. A total of approximately 85 billion euros were evaluated.
