US President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order that he claimed the rules of old ease that operates commercial rocket launch.
The order directs the US Transport Secretary to eliminate or accelerate environmental reviews for the launch license given by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The executive order reads, “Disabled permiting processes discourage investment and innovation, which limits American companies’ ability to lead in global space markets.”
According to a statement issued by the White House, “Launch and Reventry Calls for Reventry Vehicles” to cancel the old, meaningless or unevenly restraint rules.
Can Elon Musk benefit from this step?
Trump’s latest executive order states that “disable” permit processes “discourage investment and innovation,” which in turn limits the ability of American companies to lead in global space markets.
The move may discover private space companies as SpaceX, which is a company owned by former Trump advisor Elon Musk, both despite falling publicly in recent months.
The company – which dominates the Global Private Space Launch Market – plans a mission for Moon and Mars using its starship rockets, in June, in June as a routine test as an explosion.
Environmental Group Slam Executive Order
Environmental groups have criticized Trump’s footsteps to end the commercial spacecraft.
“The careless order risks people and wildlife from private companies, which are the launch of giant rockets, which explode and explode the devastation on the surrounding area,” Jaared Margolis of the US-based non-profit center said in a statement.
The FAA launched five to 25 in the annual SpaceX starship in early May, saying that it would not negatively affect the environment.
SpaceX Boss Musk, the world’s richest man, has repeatedly complained that the study on the environmental impact of starship slows the testing of rockets, along with the post-flight accident check and licensing reviews required by FAA.
