America’s message for Pakistan
On August 14, on Pakistan’s Independence Day, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote-
What message did America send to India
In his message sent to India on the US State Department website, Marco Rubio wrote-
What is America saying?
There is no difference between the number of words in the message sent by America to India and Pakistan. Rather, the difference between the accents and priorities of words is clear. On reading both messages together, it is clear that America is not only congratulating India, but is also sending a strategic signal. Rubio has described India as the largest democracy in the world in its message. In the Indian message, words such as ‘important and far-reaching relations’, Hind-Pacific security, emerging technology, and space cooperation show trying to present India as a big partner in future.
At the same time, the message of Pakistan is mostly limited to the current economic-security cooperation and formal praise. In which it is an indication that America is only focusing on practical benefits and immediate issues, not long -term strategic investment. The message mentions things that America can benefit from Pakistan, such as rare minerals, hydrocarbons.
